With the exhibition The Ideal School, the Pavillon de l’Arsenal and Magasins Généraux explore radical alternatives to reinvent elementary school and imagine new learning spaces: inclusive, sensitive, and resilient.

smarin was invited to install two activatable spaces for visitors.

Ecoletopie

A classroom conceived as a living ecosystem.
Designed by smarin, Ecoletopie is a modular educational system, a tool for the teaching team where students become active participants. Cork blocks, oak boards, and dynamic seats create an open spatial environment that fosters proprioception, critical thinking, and collective intelligence.

Geological Salon

A collaboration between artist Yto Barrada and designer Stéphanie Marin, this work forms a pedagogical and tactile landscape, combining stratigraphic columns, educational games, and Moroccan salons. It invites visitors to explore, assemble, and inhabit the world differently.

Activation

These works are activatable. Family workshops are offered every Saturday at 3 p.m. (free, upon registration). They thus become spaces for experience, transmission, and co-construction of knowledge.
